How to choose a rising damp treatment.
What's The Best Treatment For Rising Damp?
Confused about rising damp treatments?
For us, the “best” rising damp treatment isn’t about what’s cheapest, easiest, or quickest to install. It’s about what allows us to stand behind our work for decades, not just months.
We don’t choose our rising damp system because it’s convenient. We choose it because we have to.
We offer long warranties. If a treatment fails years later, it comes back on us — financially, reputationally, and legally. A system that works most of the time is not good enough. If we used products that were unreliable, inconsistent, or sensitive to site conditions, it would eventually put us out of business.
In that sense, we use our rising damp products to protect ourselves just as much as we use them to protect your building. Our incentives are aligned.
We use Silonexx DPC Injection fluid exclusively — it’s the product we formulated for this work, and it’s available for trade supply at dpcinjection.com.au.
Our inspections often lead to rising damp installation using Silonexx silane injection systems.
Why we don’t use creams or DIY-style systems
Cream-based damp proof courses, rods, and cartridge systems absolutely have a place. They’re often well suited to DIY applications, light-duty situations, or properties where expectations are modest and risk is accepted by the installer.
But as a professional company offering long-term warranties, we would never rely on them.
Creams and rods depend heavily on:
- perfect hole spacing
- ideal absorption conditions
- uniform masonry
- slow, passive diffusion
In real buildings — especially older homes — those conditions rarely exist. Voids, rubble cores, mixed materials, and salt contamination can all interfere with how these systems disperse. When dispersion is inconsistent, the damp course is inconsistent. And inconsistent results are not something we can warranty with confidence.
They may work in some cases.
They may even work well.
But “may” is not enough when we’re the ones standing behind the outcome.
Why we use a professional injection system instead
A fluid injection system allows for:
- deeper and more predictable penetration
- better coverage in irregular masonry
- more reliable formation of a continuous damp-proof barrier
- consistency across different wall types and ages
Most importantly, it gives us certainty.
Certainty is what allows us to offer long warranties, return to site if needed, and sleep at night knowing we’re not relying on best-case assumptions. We choose systems that reduce variables, not ones that increase them.
We’re known for delivering long-lasting, high-quality treatments and expert advice to the building and waterproofing industry.
When you choose our DPC injection product to treat rising damp, you’re backed by real-world experience, industry-leading standards, and proven application methods.
We’re committed to offering cost-effective product pricing that helps your business grow and stay competitive — without compromising on performance.
The difference most homeowners never get told
Many treatments are marketed as “effective”.
Very few are chosen based on risk exposure.
As a homeowner, you carry the risk if a DIY or light-duty system fails.
As a professional installer, we carry the risk — and that changes everything.
That’s why the best rising damp treatment isn’t the one that sounds simplest or cheapest.
It’s the one that still works when the wall isn’t perfect, the salts are present, and the building doesn’t behave the way the brochure assumes.
That’s the standard we work to — because we have to.
